Doug Asano

APA Board of Trustees Chair, Roseburg Forest Products

Doug Asano is the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Roseburg Forest Products and joined the company in 2020. He is a member of Roseburg’s executive leadership team and has responsibility for all sales, customer, marketing, product and channel strategies. Prior to Roseburg, Doug spent 17 years at Huber Engineered Woods, most recently as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing and a member of Huber’s senior leadership team. Doug resides outside of Charlotte NC with his wife and two daughters. In his free time, Doug enjoys skiing, hunting and cycling and is an ice hockey referee with experience at the high school, college and semi-pro levels.

Mark Tibbetts

President, APA - The Engineered Wood Association

Mark became APA's twelfth President on July 1, 2021. Mark brings 20 plus years of experience in association management, environmental policy, and program development to APA. Mark's prior work includes serving as President of the Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI). For over seven years, Mark led the Thermostat Recycling Corporation (TRC), one of three national product stewardship organizations operating in the United States. During his tenure, Mark implemented state-mandated programs in over ten states, doubled program participation, and achieved record collections of waste thermostats. Previous association work includes leadership and management positions at the Air Conditioning Contractors of America, the National Electrical Manufacturers Association, and the American Public Works Association. Mark holds his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Maine.

Joe Elling

Marketing Advisory Committee Meeting Speaker

Joe Elling joined APA as the Market Research Director in June, 2013. Elling brings 36 years of experience researching and forecasting economic and product market trends for the forest products industry. His recent work experience includes serving as Director of Markets and Economic Research for the Weyerhaeuser Company and Chief Economist, Employment Security Department, for the State of Washington. He has a BS degree in Economics from University of Minnesota and a Masters in Economics from University of Washington.
